Take me to the art!
I replicated the famous and common dot connecting algorithm. I am not sure about the official name for this algorithm, but I think I first read it in the Processing tutorial book: Processing: A Programming Handbook for Visual Designers and Artists by Casey Reas. The algorithm does the following things:
1. It randomly place dots on the canvas.
2. For every dot, connect it to other dots if they sit within a certain radius.
It’s a simple algorithm to write but the result is quite rewarding. I have seen artists animate this algorithm, which looks pretty good as well.
Here are some examples to look through. You can click here to view the live system. Refreshing the page will give you a new design. It is possible to see a blank page because of the random color and stroke setting. Just refresh the page!
